Binchotan has traditionally been used for better cooking in Japan, because it makes the food truly cooked while maintaining delicious softness. Today all the best barbecue restaurants in Japan use binchotan charcoal exclusively.
As bbq charcoal, binchotan has many advantages, such as : burns cleanly with a high steady heat,
long-lasting (durable) +/- 2 hours, it can be extinguished and re-ignited 2 – 3 times. Due to far-infrared radiation produced by the charcoal, foods are quickly sealed enhancing the natural flavours of the food. No odor and smoke, a little ash residue burning, more environmentally friendly (have been tested by using PM 2,5).
